2017 was something of a watershed year for Crestron — after roughly five years of work, the first DM NVX® AV-over-IP devices began hitting the market. The success of this line of products has been nothing short of remarkable: After just seven years, Crestron has now shipped the one millionth DM NVX AV-over-IP unit.
There’s usually not a single feature that drives the popularity of an electronic solution. That holds true in this case. DM NVX AV-over-IP is an eminently scalable, cost-effective way to deliver 4K video and stellar audio at near-zero latency.
What’s more, it takes the reliability Crestron is known for to a new level. As we shared in a previous post on our blog: “It has the lowest failure rate of any product we’ve ever produced,” says Andrew Ludke, Crestron’s senior director of product management.
To mark this one-million milestone, Crestron introduced the Crestron DM NVX Technology Awards Program to honor “the partners who have championed the DM NVX technology [who] have played a vital role in contributing to the adoption of the platform,” according to the press release announcing a call for entries. Unlike Crestron Home Technology Awards, for example, this honor goes to projects and firms in a variety of verticals for their specific use of DM NVX technology in especially notable ways.
As Crestron President and CEO Dan Feldstein noted in that aforementioned release, “The DM NVX product line has always been an important part of the Crestron portfolio, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with those who have embraced this solution, as their contributions have been at the heart of this success and intrinsic to this prodigious journey.”
