Our annual training and collaboration event, Crestron Masters, will be held in Madrid in May. There’s an “event within the event,” as the 2025 edition includes Modern Work at Crestron Masters, two-plus days of immersive sessions designed to empower attendees with the skills and insights needed to master the modern workplace. The training culminates with the brand-new Crestron Modern Workplace Certification.
“This year at Crestron Masters in Madrid, we’re excited to open our doors to the broader Crestron community,” says Chris Sgroe, senior director of global training and tech documentation at Crestron. "You no longer need to be a Crestron Certified Masters Programmer or Technology Architect to join us. We want to make this event accessible to everyone interested in our technology."
So what does “modern work” mean, anyway?
Here’s one overview:
“Modern work" refers to a contemporary approach to work that leverages digital tools and cloud technology to enable flexible, collaborative working environments, allowing employees to work effectively from anywhere, on any device, with a focus on productivity, communication, and integration between physical and virtual spaces; essentially, it's a work style that prioritizes adaptability and innovation through the use of advanced technology.
The above definition was created by generative AI. Of course, that’s not the whole picture — that rather long sentence is simply an overview created by one of the many tools that are all part of “modern work.” Taken on its own, it’s a bit lacking.
That’s why Crestron decided to introduce this curriculum. The Crestron Modern Workplace Certification has been designed to broaden that overview — and give attendees a deeper dive into how all the available technologies, operating in concert, create the proper environment and systems for modern work. "We’ve built a new training certification path specifically for our partners, dealers, and end-users who want to explore our most popular solutions,” Sgroe explains.
