“At Crestron, we believe in recognizing and celebrating the exceptional work of our dealers,” says Stijn Ooms, Crestron’s director of product strategy. “The Crestron 2024 Europe Integration Awards were established to honor the best use of our solutions in various categories for dealers across EMEA. We were looking for projects that showcased innovation, creativity, and the ability to deliver outstanding results for clients.”

The winners from each category:

Best Crestron Ecosystem Project Powered by XiO Cloud Technology

The Dublin City University Polaris Building by Hereworks

As the team at Hereworks notes, “Hereworks has been a trusted audio-visual technology (AV) partner of Dublin City University (DCU) since 2016, helping them in their digital transformation. Over the years, we have developed a deep understanding of DCU's evolving technological needs as well as its existing infrastructure. This long-standing partnership laid the foundation for our involvement in the Polaris Building project (formerly known as the Future Technology Building).

The firm has a long history of successful collaborations with DCU, including input from ISS, lecturers, and administrators. “This gave us the insight and expertise to deliver innovative, high-quality AV solutions that align with DCU's vision of a modern, technology-driven campus. From the very beginning, our role in this project was clear: to provide a state-of-the-art AV infrastructure that would empower DCU to enhance STEM education, support cutting-edge research, and enable seamless hybrid learning experiences.”

“Crestron's DM NVX AV-over-IP and centralized control solutions proved critical to achieving DCU’s goals for flexible teaching spaces, advanced research labs, and collaborative environments,” says the team at Hereworks. “By leveraging Crestron’s capabilities, Hereworks delivered a network-centric AV system that empowers faculty, enhances the student experience, and positions DCU as a leader in digital transformation.”

It followed, naturally, that Hereworks chose the Crestron XiO Cloud® technology operations management platform to handle their devices and spaces. “Adopting the XiO Cloud platform in the Polaris Building enables remote management and scalability, helping to make it a true state-of-the-art facility,” says Hereworks. As the judges noted, “The focus on hybrid classrooms and collaborative spaces is innovative and adaptable to future needs.” That “future-readiness” is just one aspect of this winning project, and part of why the project was honored for “the most outstanding combination of Crestron solutions, all managed through the XiO Cloud technology operations management platform.”

Best Crestron Content Distribution and Control Project

The NBC Conference Centre by AVEX B.V.

This award was designed to “honor the project that best uses Crestron technology to distribute content and provide control in a specific environment.” AVEX B.V. met the challenge with their work on the NBC Conference Centre in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands, after a fire gutted the facility in 2022. The venue, as AVEX tells us, is “a family-owned business providing exceptional experiences for corporate events of all sizes, from intimate gatherings of 40 to grand conferences for 3,000 guests.”

AVEX had been working with the family that owned the facility since 1992, so their long history with the NBC Conference Centre helped inform the rebuilding process. The result: “In collaboration with AVEX, NBC Conference Centre offers a comprehensive event solution. Two expansive event areas boast state-of-the-art projection technology in their plenary spaces, while each area features a dedicated hospitality area bathed in natural light. Additionally, 22 fully equipped sub-rooms provide a seamless flow for any event, ensuring a truly unforgettable experience for every guest.” Crestron DM NVX® AV-over-IP technology is at the very heart of this solution.

Again, the idea of a future-ready solution was top of mind for the client. The AVEX team says, “NBC Conference Centre’s primary challenge was to create a technologically advanced event venue that would not only meet current needs but also anticipate future requirements. They aimed to ensure flawless operation and a superior experience for their guests while prioritizing ease of use and reliability. Room reservation systems display client information, while preset lighting settings and default audio levels ensure consistent experiences. During use, non-technical users must be able to easily connect devices, triggering screen adjustments via DM NVX AV-over-IP sync detection.” The project’s “perfect blend of technology and impressive customer feedback” convinced the judges that this project was a winner.

Best Crestron Collaboration Project

Hartak Meeting Places at DVIN Resort Complex by UltimaProGroup OÜ

As we noted when we opened these awards for entries, this category goes to the heart of hybrid work, recognizing the integration that focuses on providing the most equitable collaboration environment for both in-person and remote meeting attendees. UltimaProGroup achieved this in a 1,000-square-meter suite of meeting spaces at the DVIN resort in Yerevan, Armenia — all made possible with Crestron technology.

As the Estonian integration team from UltimaProGroup explains, “The client aimed to create a cutting-edge conference area that would captivate visitors while offering a highly interactive and memorable experience. We installed a Crestron control system that served as the backbone for the multimedia installation, ensuring the integration and synchronization of all components. The system included a Crestron processor for centralized control, DM NVX AV-over-IP technology for high-quality video distribution, and touch panels for intuitive user interaction. Additionally, there are three rooms with Crestron Flex solutions. Crestron was the ideal choice due to its flexibility, reliability, and ability to integrate.

“The DM NVX AV-over-IP system allowed for flawless video and audio streaming, while the intuitive touch panels simplified control, making it easy for the client and visitors to interact with the installation. The result was an engaging conference area installation that exceeded the client’s expectations. Visitors have responded positively, noting the smooth and interactive experience, while the client has praised the system’s reliability and ease of operation.”

The finished rooms are used for government meetings, presentations of commercial projects, and internal meetings with the hotel staff, according to UltimaProGroup. Additionally, “It can also adapt to different themes or events, as the space is easily customizable. The biggest benefit has been the system's reliability and user-friendliness, significantly reducing the time and effort needed to operate and maintain the installation.”

Best Crestron High-Impact Space Including Intelligent Video

L'Oréal — Quatuor Brussels by ACS Partners

We speak a great deal about the importance of high-impact spaces — that is, rooms where critical decisions are made or important information is shared, such as boardrooms, auditoriums, training centers — really any key meeting space, even cafeterias. Intelligent video solutions are extraordinarily helpful in these rooms, keeping every participant engaged with the best possible images and sound of those speaking, presenting, or conversing.

ACS Partners took the trophy with the new L’Oréal Brussels offices, which were relocating to two floors of the prestigious Quatuor Building in downtown Brussels. As the integrator tells us, “The new office aimed to serve multiple purposes. The third floor would cater to corporate functions and sales teams, while the fourth floor was designed as a stylish, welcoming space for customers and visitors. These spaces included an array of facilities: multiple meeting rooms, quiet bubbles for focused work, a flexible triptych of training rooms, an ‘Eat & Meet’ area, and a retail shop to showcase their products.”

Crestron technologies in the spaces include: three large, modular Training Academy and Learning Spaces featuring 1 Beyond intelligent video cameras, AV distribution and processing leveraging DM NVX AV-over-IP technology, and a variety of dedicated touch screens controlling the AV solutions. The client is especially fond of the intelligent video technology at work here, says ACS Partners: “In meeting rooms and training spaces, the 1 Beyond cameras truly impressed L'Oréal with their AI features and smooth tracking capabilities to deliver intelligent video and exceptional hybrid meeting experiences.” There’s more: “Crestron-enabled live streaming in the training academy, powered by DM NVX technology and Blackmagic WebPresenter 4K, allows for global broadcasts of product training. The design also includes dynamic room booking systems and modular training spaces for flexibility.” The judges noted that the team at ACS had pulled off delivering a truly creative solution to a corporate environment, something that’s often easier said than done.

Best Crestron Home OS Project

The David Holmes Residence by Custom Sight & Sound, Ltd.

This award was designed “to honor the residential project that best utilizes the Crestron Home® OS, Crestron custom solutions, or a combination of both to enhance the homeowner’s lived experience.” In this instance, that “lived experience” is truly remarkable.

The home is specially designed for David Holmes, the subject of the HBO documentary “The Boy Who Lived,” which tells his story of being gravely injured while working as a stunt double for Daniel Radcliffe during the filming of a “Harry Potter” film. Custom Sight & Sound (CSS) sums up the project: “We were approached by a disability specialist in 2010, having been recommended by Crestron, to design solutions for David Holmes after he had been severely disabled in a flight scene during filming. From a groundbreaking installation in 2012 to a meticulously planned upgrade in 2024, this high-tech house is a testament to innovation, adaptability, determination, and the power of collaboration.”

Over the last 15 years, Holmes’ needs have evolved, and CSS returned to the project with an upgrade. The CSS team notes that “Crestron was simply the only option. They were and remain the only manufacturer who provided a solution for each of David's specific needs, from automated lighting and shading, motorized doors and windows, a car lift, every aspect of audio video, and so much more. Any other approach would have meant piecing together lesser solutions.” Voice control was also extremely helpful in realizing the ultimate solution.

“This is not just a smart solution for a client who has the ability to pay for solutions for convenience and enjoyment. These are solutions that allow someone a level of freedom and dignity that would otherwise be completely denied. Prior to moving into his new home, David required full-time, 24-hour care for every daily function, no matter how simple. The new home and the technology that it provided meant that for extended periods of time, he could now live alone. As David says, ‘This house changed my life.’”

The judges were very impressed: “This project demonstrates how smart home technology can profoundly improve quality of life, setting a high standard in this category. The combination of advanced voice control, seamless integration, and a deep understanding of the client’s needs is exceptional.”

Take a look at the inspirational David Holmes Residence by Custom Sight & Sound, Ltd:

“The quality of entries we received this year was truly remarkable,” says Ooms. “Each project reflected a high level of expertise, dedication, and a deep understanding of our technology. The winning projects stood out for their exceptional execution and the positive impact they had on their clients. It was inspiring to see how our dealers leveraged Crestron solutions to create innovative and future-ready environments. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and look forward to seeing even more groundbreaking projects in the future.”

In addition to the 2024 Europe Integration Awards, Crestron has also honored three dealers with Gold DM NVX AV-over-IP devices in recognition of their efforts to support us in our road to one million. Those dealers — who received their trophies at ISE 2025 Expo — include AVEX B.V., Kinly, and ProAV.
