It’s no surprise that 2020 has been a challenging year. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken an immense physical, mental, and emotional toll on countless communities across the globe. Healthcare workers in particular have been hit hard by the pandemic and have had to assume great personal risk in order to protect the health and safety of their communities. As the backbone of our global health system, it’s these frontline workers that need to be recognized for their steadfast, unwavering commitment to saving the lives of others.
In support of our country’s frontline healthcare workers and pediatric patients, Crestron has partnered with comfort-focused sock and apparel brand Bombas to spread some holiday cheer and give back to those that are working tirelessly to protect the American people. Crestron donated 4,400 pairs of Bombas® socks to healthcare providers and pediatric patients at several hospitals near Crestron’s regional offices. Now, healthcare workers and patients can receive a new, clean pair of socks after leaving the hospital on their way home for the holidays or in between shifts.
Bombas has graciously matched our donation by sending us an additional 4,400 pairs of socks that will be delivered to several charitable organizations selected by Crestron that support the homeless across North America. Their donation socks are thoughtfully made to meet the needs of this community; features include an antimicrobial treatment, reinforced seams for durability and darker colors for less visible wear. They provide comfort for the less-than-ideal environments many homeless people are currently living in.
Our current hospital partners through the U.S. include: Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center (Las Vegas, NV), Porter Adventist Hospital (Denver, CO), The Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, MD), Long Island Jewish Medical Center (Queens, NY), Northside Hospital Duluth (Duluth, GA), Good Samaritan Hospital (Suffern, NY), Rush University Hospital (Chicago, IL), AdventHealth Orlando (Orlando, FL), Children’s Medical Center Plano (Plano, TX), Children's Hospital Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA), Hudson Regional Hospital (Secaucus, NJ), Sharp Memorial Hospital (San Diego, CA), and Rady Children's Hospital (San Diego, CA).
It was an obvious choice for Crestron to partner with Bombas, as our organizations share the mission of making a tangible difference in people’s lives. Bombas believes that a more comfortable world is a better world and that everyone, no matter their circumstances, deserves to put on clean, properly-fitted clothes – and socks. To date, Bombas has donated over 40 million items to those in need with the help of its network of 3,500 homeless shelters and community organizations.
Whether delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that enhance productivity and collaboration, or producing high-quality clothing that provides comfort and happiness, both Crestron and Bombas are dedicated to improving the lives of people now and well into the future. This holiday initiative is one we hope will bring a little joy and comfort to others.
Crestron encourages everyone to put their best foot forward this holiday season by doing an act of kindness – whether it be through volunteer work, donations, or positive messages to those that need it most.
We are so incredibly grateful for all of the health workers and first responders on the frontlines working around the clock to safeguard our communities and ensure we get the best care possible. We wish everyone a safe and healthy holiday season and pledge to provide ongoing support to help those in need.
