Empowering Organizations In a Time of Crisis.

Crestron takes great pride in helping those who are doing so much to help others. It is gratifying to hear that our products and our partnerships are helping mission critical entities continue their important work during this time of crisis.

Today we are proud to share this story with a few words from Neil Kelly Head of Digital Services, Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group, part of the National Health Service in the United Kingdom.

Sussex CCG is a customer shared by Crestron and our partner Microsoft. The use case began with the desire to connect three of their core operational sites within Sussex CCG HQ. A Crestron Flex solution supporting a native Microsoft® Teams experience was deployed throughout 40 rooms. The benefits of connecting Sussex teams to support rapid planning around COVID-19 were immediately apparent and appreciated.

As the challenges of COVID-19 unfolded, the team at Sussex CCG realized that Crestron Flex/Teams solutions would be invaluable technology to have in care homes and General Practice surgeries-vital for training and day-to-day planning. The rapid acceleration in the spread of the virus and the need to save lives in greater numbers lent urgency to the need to deploy more and fast. 100 more Crestron Flex devices have been sent with a further 80 more not far behind.

In the words of Neil Kelly Head of Digital Services, Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group

"In what is unprecedented times worldwide and in our country I wanted to highlight the difference you are all making keeping our front line clinicians mobile which is ultimately saving people’s lives. I recognise that working in a private sector or support organisation you will often not witness the change and results of the solutions you all provide us.

The supply of equipment and rapid activation of mobile telephony and video conferencing equipment is enabling our front line staff to remain operational whilst in isolation. Their ability to contact patients and continue GP services remotely has prevented our health system from collapsing. Without this these patients would be attending A&E consuming clinical time in an inappropriate setting which would have resulted in critical patients not being seen. It is likely that without these systems we would be seeing more deaths from COVID-19 as A&E doctors would not be able to cope with the demands.

Apologies for not always being my calm self during the last week, I’m keen we do everything we can to keep these services running. Ultimately it could be yourself, your loved ones or your close relatives that we are saving."
